Explore, Dream, Discover.

Lately I’ve been thinking alot about how many people have dreams for themselves and their lives that are left unrealized. When I think about that, one of my favorite quotes comes to mind - so I’m gonna share it with you. Mark Twain famously said,

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did.

So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor.

Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Isn’t that an awesome reflection?

The pandemic has definitely given all of us the space to think about how we’re doing in “normal” life ...and what we dream of building into our daily experiences when we get back to that “normal” (which might not be “normal” at all!). What if we really took this pause as an opportunity to pivot a bit? What would it look like to catch the trade winds in our sails?

Well, maybe it’s time to do a deep dive into your heart and think about what tweaks you need to make to get some wind in your sails. It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to overhaul your life completely - but perhaps you’re ready to make some tweaks or embark on some smaller adventures that will bring you a renewed sense of happiness and excitement about life. Many of us go through periods of time when we feel restless, but we aren’t sure what changes we need to make to get back on course. When my clients are in that space, or I am myself, I start by asking a few key questions. Maybe they’ll help get you thinking as well. Try jotting down some notes:

  1. What does your ideal day look like?

  2. What makes you come to life?

  3. What are you doing when you feel like your best self?

  1. What do you want your legacy to be?

Your answers are probably pretty revealing, right? Let them guide you. And just remember that small tweaks can make a big impact.
